i played Ermac in MK:Deception... and in here he is still really sick... but Smoke runs shit and counters everyone... plus he has Akuma teleport...!!! so i'm maining Ermac and Smoke...

ps. when the dojang opens up to mk9, i think i am only going to be running tag sessions... i don't see why peeps playing solo when the tag pretty solid.. or maybe cuz that's the only way i can get an over 20 dmg combo wit' my jax and i haven't met some teams like liu/kung who have 100% combos...

Umm... Yeah... MK has always been singles play. Tag is awesome but not really tourny level. It's just fun factor level. Not my call but that's my two cents.

i really like how the tag system of this game works... it reminds me of kofxi in some ways where u can tag switch to pressure or combo or to cover your unsafe moves... in mvc3 u can't really combo into another character, can only do shit like dhc... and assists r free every 5 seconds...

in mk9 u can call assist or assist switch which costs 1 bar... or do tag combos... mk is a rather simple system... not saying it's a bad game by any chance... but probably the simplest in terms of complexity out of BB/kof/tekken/sf4/mvc3... only a very few characters have crazy ass difficult combos like Kung Lao... so i really feel that this game will shine at most on the tag battle system... come on... doing combos in a FG with a friend? :mrgreen:

i also kinda like Sektor and Kano... blanka ball is fun... and Jax is just sad... poor guy could've at least had a launcher... ground pound unblockable sucks so far... only fun thing is he has Tekken combo... jab > dash > jab > dash > jab > dash punch... lol... Kung Lao is also really sick... probably the sickest character in the game...

k Ermac's my favourite... but man i'm reaaally liking Kabal... freaken guy is bad-ass... his combos look soo sick... and damn fireball whoring... lol... i can even anti-air with it and go into a dash spin combo...

k after playing the game quite a bit and watching match videos, i declare MK9 to be the 2D Tekken...

why? well lets look at the facts... *Russell u agree... right?*

- tekken-ish idea of combat... turtle... space... bait... punish with 50% combos...

- moves come in strings... no linking/chaining... combos are tekken-ish juggle based and timed hits...

- purely tekken-ish combos... dash > w/e > dash > w/e... a lot of dashing involved...

- most characters can't get big damage from lows... same as tekken...

- jump attacks don't really have much variety... same as tekken... *KOF/LB2 are heavy jump attack games*

well, for russell maybe because his idea of movement is box step so in mk, it'd be his "russelldash" *stifled laughter*.. but u obviously don't know how to move in tekken or you would never consider spacing in mk in the same world as spacing in tekken... but i can see what u are trying to say. move recognition will go a long way as letting go of block and ducking a high u KNO to be in a string will be as "tekken-like" as the game will get... the shitty negative edge "feature" is horrible and needs reworking... x rays, invincible wake up attacks, and one break throws are also all "for the kids" features...

bottom line: let's play tekken!!!!! come sun/thurs. get ur game on
